80-year-old Simon Uraon has worked on water management and environmental protection in many villages of the Bero block of Ranchi district. He has irrigated about 900 thousand acres of barren land byconstructing four dams, six ponds and many wells just by raising mass funding with the help of the villagers. That is why he is called ‘The WaterMan’.
