Synopsis

BLACK SHEEP offers an unflinching look into the lives of the Transgender women living in the slums of India. Known as Hijras, these women come to bless traditional Indian weddings, yet they are shunned by the very society that seeks their blessings. When the Hijras arrive at filmmaker Reshel Shah’s wedding, she dared to ask questions other are afraid to ask. Through the lens of Shah, BLACK SHEEP goes on a journey of friendship that overcomes language barriers, class difference and a fear of those that are considered different to us.
